Notes About AJAXWORLD 2009 NY

This event was a little vendor heavy, but many speakers and attendees shared as much information as possible with the allotted time.  AJAX code and best practices was a little light, but I learned more about cloud computing, service oriented arcitechure (SOA), software as a service (SaaS), iPhone in the Enterprise, and platform as a service (PaaS).  While talking with other attendees during lunch I discovered more people were asking “where is the AJAX?”  I quickly understood that I was not alone in expecting more “hands on” AJAX with example code and best practices from industry leaders.  Most speakers used most of their time giving their presentation and there was little time left for questions and answers.  Most speakers graciously answered questions between events, but that was at the cost of missing part of all of the next event.  I think everyone did the best they could with enormous amount of information and small window of time.

Talking the Talk, Now Walking the Walk

I believe most attendees were very intelligent and aware of industry trends.  During most sessions I would see most people in the room nodding their head while quickly taking notes during the “Ah-Ah Moment”.  Most of the presentations were based on “Real World” experience.  This type of content gives us the information we can walk away with and use immediately in our current workflow.

A Common Message Across All Tracks

All the ideas and techniques related to technology was almost overwhelming, but most had common messages.
